Police have arrested a local man in connection with the bottles of liquor seized during a raid on a house in Henver during an operation targeting a widespread illegal liquor supply network in the city.
Police identified the suspect as Mohamed Rashwan Abbas, 53, from Male'.
They said police arrested the suspect on the 13th of this month and remanded him to police custody for 15 days.
Police seized 826 bottles of liquor after they searched two floors of Henveiru Maadhooge earlier this week. The floors were being used as office space.
Police also arrested three foreigners after the raid on the house. All three have been identified as Bangladeshi nationals.
