The Chief Operating Officer (CEO) of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Hisan Hassan, has been dismissed.

While the outlet has confirmed his dismissal, the reason remains unclear.

No official government agency has commented on the matter. He was reportedly fired early yesterday.

Hisan Hassan has been actively involved in the former National Disaster Management Center (NDMC) since its inception. He has more than 22 years of valuable service in the disaster management field.

Hisan joined the army at 16 and completed air traffic and radar training courses in the MNDF. However, after working for the army on the 2004 tsunami response team, he left the army to pursue a career in humanitarian aid.

In 2011, when the NDMC was changed to a civilian agency, Hisan was working in the top management of the agency.

Hisan was appointed as the CEO of NDMA in 2018 after it was changed to an authority.
