The Managing Director of Hajj Corporation, Mohamed Firuzul Abdullah Haleel, says the government has decided to provide free medical check-ups to Haj pilgrims starting next year.
Speaking on PSM's Raaje Miadhu Program, Firuzul said that before going to Hajj, it is very important for everyone to identify their health problems and prepare for them immediately. He said he would shape the work through a stronger system.
Firzul said all pilgrims are required to undergo medical check-ups, and the Hajj Corporation, the Health Ministry, and Aasandha are working together to arrange this through a robust system without making the pilgrims spend from their own pockets.
The Hajj Corporation has arranged for Umrah pilgrims who travel from the inner islands to get vaccinated at no additional cost from their home islands. Previously, free vaccination was available only in Malay City.
