MP for Hulhumale' South Constituency, Dr. Ahmed Shamheed, has announced that he will officially compete in the MDP's Primary for the 2023 Presidential Election.
Former Transport Minister Shamheed is contesting the primary with the aim of restoring failed policies, he said. He also said that he will get a lot of support.
Several key party figures are vying for the Presidential candidacy, including former President Dr. Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, former Speaker of the Parliament and Foreign Minister Abdullah Shahid, and former Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail.
Out of these individuals, former Foreign Minister Shahid is actively campaigning ahead of the party's Presidential Primary by traveling to different regions in the country.
