Former Chairman of the Housing Development Corporation, Ahmed Shaheer, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Maldives Tourism Development Corporation, MTDC.
The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has confirmed his appointment and further confirmed that Shaheer has also been appointed as a board member of MTDC.
Shaheer holds a Master's in Business Administration from Australia and has extensive experience in corporate management.
He spent more than 29 years at the State Trade Organization (STO) in different capacities, including as its Managing Director. Additionally, Shaheer held top management roles at Fenaka Corporation and HDC, where he was appointed chairman in 2025.
He replaces Abdullah Faiz as MTDC Chairman. MTDC
