The Pensions Administration Office has appointed Yazmeed Mohamed as its new Chief Operating Officer (CEO).
It said that Yazmeed was appointed to the post for a 5-year term, and he will take over his responsibilities as CEO starting on the 23rd of this month. He was appointed by the Board of Directors of the Pension Office.
The Pension Office said its new CEO has more than 20 years of experience in various government agencies and senior private sector positions, with extensive experience in governance, auditing, anti-corruption, accounting, finance and management.
It further said that Yazmeed is a Certified Chartered Accountant who has completed the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). As per the Pension Office, he also holds a Master's Degree in Management from the Open University Malaysia and a First-Class Honors Degree in Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.
The Pension Office said that its Board of Directors of the Pension Office aims to further improve the administrative management of the office under the initiative of the newly appointed CEO, and to further progress the efforts of the Pension Office to establish a strong and sustainable pension system in the Maldives.
The Pension Office has experienced a tumultuous few months, after the majority of its top management, including the CEO, CFO, and Chairman, resigned over the government's questionable plans for the pension fund.
