Minister of Homeland Security Ali Ihusan says the police have concluded the investigation into the 2024 fire that destroyed an office complex housing the offices of several ministries and government agencies.

Speaking at Parliament today, Minister Ihsan said video footage recorded by the officers' bodycams when police first attended the scene clearly showed how the fire started.

He said that the fire first started in the air conditioning wires in the ceiling and that it was not a result of an arson attack.

The incident has sparked various political allegations, with the opposition accusing the buildings of being set on fire to deliberately destroy evidence.

However, Minister Ihsan confirmed that the investigation into the case has now been completed and said a press conference would be held soon to release more details of the incident.

In December 2024, a fire broke out in the tin building and spread to the Green Building of the Environment Ministry. The Tin Building and Green Building, which house the Housing Ministry and the Construction Ministry, were burnt down.
