Construction Minister Dr. Abdullah Muthalib says the quality of the infrastructure work carried out by this government can be seen in the development of Boduthakurufaanu Magu, and the former government's quality can be seen in the development of Ameenee Magu.
Replying to a question by a member of Parliament, Minister Muthalib said the previous government had entrusted the Road Development Corporation (RDC) with the construction of Ameenee Magu by bringing in a manual machine from India without any experience.
He also said he did not know on what basis or on what technical study the decision was made to carry out such a large project in this manner.
The Minister said that the difference between the roads built by MTCC and the work done by RDC, which decided to have the capacity to pave itself, will be clearly seen today.
The project, which was awarded to RDC for MVR 84.4 million by the previous government, has been completed, but the public has complained about potholes and deteriorating tarmac.
