Schools across the country reopened today after a 16-day holiday following the conclusion of the 1st term of the academic year 2026.
The schools closed on the 16th of last month for the first term holidays.
According to statistics released by the Ministry of Education, more than 80,000 students are studying from preschool to grade 12 this year.
There are 6,673 local teachers and 1,693 foreign teachers in more than 200 schools to teach these students.
This academic year began on January 27th following this administration's reversal of the changes brought to the start of the academic year by the previous administration.
This academic year is set to conclude on the 18th of December.
Students will begin Academic year 2027 nearly a month later on 12th January 2027.
