A fire broke out in an apartment in Hulhumale' Phase 1.
The Maldives National Defence Force, MDNF, said that the fire broke out in a ground-floor apartment of Unit 141 when a water heating pot in the kitchen caught fire.
It said that the fire was extinguished within 30 minutes.
MNDF said that 6 people were treated for smoke inhalation at the Hulhumale Hospital. The apartment had also been damaged in the fire.
House fires are growing common in the Maldives due to faulty electrical work as well as faulty or leaking gas cylinders.
